On Monday 4th of July, the second and final fight night of the Enfusion Contenders documentary took place. Held at Phetchbuncha Samui Stadium, Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui, Thailand, the show lived up to its build-up.
I played an official photographer role for Enfusion, capturing those fight moments. If you are reading this, then you are almost definitely interested in the female fight. The final was between Victoria Sullivan from Australia and Katie Zetolofsy from England. The format of the Enfusion documentary being filmed saw both fighters training together and becoming closer as friends. To say that they became good friends is somewhat of an understatement, they were inseparable.
There was some talk around the gym (from the men), that they felt the fight would end up being a flop. Having got to know the ladies quite well, having spoken to them about their thoughts on the upcoming fight, and lastly knowing how female fighters fight - I knew the bout would steal the show.
I was right.
The fight card was as follows:
Kulabped Sor Sorpichai (Thailand) vs. Jasmin Lopez (Britain)
Leonardo Casotti (Brazil) vs. Tadeas Ruzicka (Czech Republic)
Milan Pales (Slovakia) vs. Salimkhan Lbragimov (Russia)
Thaphet sor Jun Muaythai (Thailand) vs. Daniel Dorrer (Germany)
Fhapatan So Chester (Thailand) vs. Chalermsub Phuket (Thailand)
Katie Zetolofsky (England) vs. Victoria Sullivan (Australia)
Winner of Fight 2 vs. Winner of Fight 3
It's no secret that Katie Zetolofsky took home the win. However, you will be wise to catch the documentary when it is released, just to feel that tension that was present. The release date is still unknown. As soon as I find out, I will be shouting about it, do not worry!
