Website Update 2.1.1. Below is a list of changes, now making the website version 2.1.1 Some of the changes are minor, and some are fairly big… but all, are for the overall betterment of your experience whilst on the website. Thank you for your continued support!
Wow what a month! We wanted to share with you some of the progress our website made last month, and largely due to you, our supporters. Last year we worked hard to bring you the first Awakening site, but we were disappointed with the number visitors we were getting. We know that the Awakening mission is a worthy one, so we decided to largely rethink how we do things.
On Christmas Day we launched the new website – “2.0” as we called it. We strive to constantly update the website for you, so periodically we will be improving features and tweaking the workings of the site. Today is the first of those updates. Below is a list of changes, now making the website version 2.1. Some of the changes are minor, and some are fairly big…
We’re proud to boast that the Awakening female athlete register is the largest and most comprehensive in the world, for this reason alone you really should be on it. The “Add Yourself” feature on our old website was clunky and we found that most users struggled to input their data.
One of the most exciting features on the Awakening website 2.0 is the new Global Martial Arts Event Calendar. As far as we’re aware, it’s yet again a ground breaking and ambitious move from Awakening. The idea of the calendar is to list as many martial arts events around the world as is physically possible for our little fingers.
The Awakening global martial arts event calendar is another great feature we’d like to share with you in a little more detail. As far as we know, there isn’t another calendar like this in the world. We believe we’ve broken new ground again with this feature. While our calendar system itself is still in its infancy, it is the best place on the internet to find out at a glance, about martial arts events happening around the globe.
Are you a writer wanting a larger audience for you work? A budding writer that has yet to be published? Perhaps you’re a fight fan with an opinion to share? Or maybe you just want a chance to win an exclusive Awakening T-Shirt? In a previous post we talked about the Female Fight Community and the importance of which we consider the community involvement in the website.
With the new Awakening website 2.0, we really want to drive forward the community aspect of this build. We feel that involving you – the female fight community – with as much of the website as possible our mission to do good can only grow from here. We refer to the “Female Fight Community” a lot, perhaps we should clarify what we mean by this.
We hope by now that you have had a click around the new and improved athlete register. We also hope that you love all the new features as much as we do! It has been a long eight month road of designing, building, collating data and tweaking… and we are now extremely proud for the community to be able to use it.
Over the next few days we’ll be posting more in-depth articles on all of the new and improved features of the new Awakening 2.0 website. For now, we’d like to just give you a brief overview of what our new website offers. Behind the scenes streamlining
This athlete has unfortunately opted out of having an Awakening Profile.
We want to apologize for what must appear as an overall lack of activity on our website over the last three months. There is however a very good reason, behind the scenes we are building a highly improved website. When we initially launched the first website (what we are now lovingly calling Awakening Website 1.0) we took an interest in watching how our supporters used the website.
We thought we needed to highlight a mini issue that a tiny percentage of you will have come across in the Global Female Martial Artists Register. There are a handful of broken links due to our own error of inputting them incorrectly. Fortunately each time someone clicks on a broken link it is flagged to us immediately. As soon as we see the flag we correct the link.
We’re finally here with our website. I know right? We hope you like it, let us know what you think. We’ve plenty of exciting ideas for the future which we feel will help female martial artists gain the recognition that they deserve. For now, let us talk you through what the website is all about.
