Back in November, we asked our beloved photographer Kelly Smith if she would go out into the field with Sheree Halliday and shoot some natural, non Muay Thai photographs for us. Kelly took it literally and took Sheree to… wait for it… a field!

Add Yourself to our Athlete Register
We’re proud to boast that the Awakening female athlete register is the largest and most comprehensive in the world, for this reason alone you really should be on it. The “Add Yourself” feature on our old website was clunky and we found that most users struggled to input their data.
Submit Your Event
One of the most exciting features on the Awakening website 2.0 is the new Global Martial Arts Event Calendar. As far as we’re aware, it’s yet again a ground breaking and ambitious move from Awakening. The idea of the calendar is to list as many martial arts events around the world as is physically possible for our little fingers.
Happy New Year from Awakening
We’d like to take this opportunity to the wish the entire fight community a Happy New Year! We hope that you are raring to go with your New Years Resolutions.. ie, no more cake! 2013 was a truly historical year for the female fight community. The UFC finally changed their stance on WMMA, thus opening new doors for female fighters and bringing a much wider, newer and spellbound audience.
Spotlight: Maureen Riordon
Our last spotlight of the year brings you an athlete that you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for in 2014! Maureen Riordon is a true multi-disciplinary martial artist, having competed in five different combat sports to date! Even more impressive than her diverse skill set is her fierce drive to inspire others to pursue their own goals, and to never give up fighting to make them happen.
Event Calendar Explained
The Awakening global martial arts event calendar is another great feature we’d like to share with you in a little more detail. As far as we know, there isn’t another calendar like this in the world. We believe we’ve broken new ground again with this feature. While our calendar system itself is still in its infancy, it is the best place on the internet to find out at a glance, about martial arts events happening around the globe.

With the new Awakening website 2.0, we really want to drive forward the community aspect of this build. This humble athlete fights out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and almost certainly doesn’t realize how inspirational she is.
Awakening Website 2.0 is coming!
We want to apologize for what must appear as an overall lack of activity on our website over the last three months. There is however a very good reason, behind the scenes we are building a highly improved website. When we initially launched the first website (what we are now lovingly calling Awakening Website 1.0) we took an interest in watching how our supporters used the website.
