Summary
The Nunte originated in Okinawa as a fishing tool. It is similar to the Sai in both shape and size with the only difference being that one of its arms is reversed.
HISTORY
At the grass-root level, the Nunte was used as a fishing tool. The central part of the Nunte was used for striking, while its arms helped in catching the opponent’s weapon.
PRESENT DAY
Currently, it is used for fighting demonstrations or competitions and is mostly found at the end of the staff (Nunte Bo) or in the hand.
