Sue Fox’s Bio

Sue Fox is a female fighter from Los Angeles, California, United States.

She began training in martial arts with Karate, and earned her Black Belt in 1975. From 1973-1978 she trained and competed in Karate, including Light Contact and Full Contact matches.

After seeing news of the first sanctioned women’s boxing match in Oregon in 1975, Sue became interested in pursuing a professional boxing career. She became the first woman to obtain a boxing license in three states; Washington (1976), Montana (1976) and Utah (1977). Sue fought in a southpaw stance.

From 1998, Sue Fox began covering and documenting women’s boxing. She is the founder of WBAN (Women’s Boxing Archive Network), and also created the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF).

Personal Life

Sue is also a retired police officer.
