Ramona Gatto’s Bio

Ramona Gatto is a female fighter from the United States.

She officially retired in January 2000, but continued to coach youth athletes.

She was the first athlete, male or female, to win an IKF World Title.

Ramona’s last kickboxing fight was originally ruled a decision for her opponent. The International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) overturned this decision to Ramona after it was found out that the judges’ decision was fixed. The controversial incident lead the IKF to establish rules for all IKF world titles, including the number of judges provided from their own organization. However, Ramona never fought under kickboxing rules again.

Ramona Gatto is openly gay, and is mother to one daughter, Marina.
