Katie Taylor is a female Boxer from Bray, Ireland.

Katie Taylor began training in boxing in 1995 at the age of 9. Unable to compete against women, Katie faced boys of her age and weight in exhibition bouts. In 2001, at the age of 15, Katie fought in the first ever sanctioned women's bout by the Irish Amateur Boxing Association.

With her victory in the 2010 World Boxing Championships finals, Katie earned her 100th career win.

The 2012 Olympic Games were the first to include women's boxing. Winning her weight class, Katie became the first ever Lightweight women's Olympic Champion. She was selected to be Ireland's flag bearer at the games.

Katie has been appointed the Women's Boxing Ambassador for the AIBA.

In addition to boxing, Katie has also competed in gaelic football, camogie and athletes. In association football, she represented Ireland on the national squad from 2006 to 2009.
