Aisling Daly’s Bio

Aisling Daly began martial arts at the age of 10 with Karate. She then got involved with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu before transitioning into MMA and rounding out her skill set with Muay Thai training.

She received her Blue Belt in 2006 from SBG President Matt Thornton. On June 13th, 2014, Ais earned her Brown Belt in BJJ, the first Irish woman to do so. In October of 2016 she was awarded her BJJ Black Belt by Matt Thornton, the first Irish woman to achieve the rank. She is the first female professional MMA fighter from Ireland, and also the first Irish MMA fighter, male or female, to win a World Championship.

Aisling fought for Invicta FC before signing to the UFC via TUF Season 20. She officially retired in January of 2017.

Personal Life

Aisling has talked openly about her experience with depression, which took her out of the sport for a a year.

Ais also works as a female cutman.
