On August 6th, Hybrid Fight Series, Pride Combat Athletics and Lion Fight Promotions brings to you a night of high quality fight action. Whilst that is a mouthful, the show boasts a whopping fight card of twenty-five bouts. Six of the billed fights are going to female. The event takes place at Bracknell Leisure Centre, which is in Berkshire, United Kingdom, and begins at 2pm.
I found out about the card back in May when a couple of fighters mentioned it to me, inquiring if I would be attending. On hearing there would be so many female bouts, I had to go. The most fortunate part was finding out the events location, because I live only twenty minutes away! With that in mind, I will also attending the weigh-ins.
On contacting Hybrid Fight Series for media passes, organizer Rob Hayward was very open to the idea of Awakening Fighters covering the show. Let me be clear however, Awakening will not be filming the event - it will be streamed live on MMA TV and Fite. Neither will Awakening do the official photography - photographer Dave Fordisque has that covered. In what capacity will Awakening be attending. Put simply, media coverage. I'll inject an honourable mention here for SunchaiOfficial, who will also be providing media coverage.
There will be two Awakening team members there, we will be writing an article with the results, and I will also be talking Hybrid into allowing me backstage to photograph the female fighters preparing for war.
I am ashamed to say that only two of the twelve female fighters have completed Awakening profiles. I have contacted the rest of the fighters to get their information. Their profiles will be updated as soon as their questionnaires come back in.
